Paralegals; juridische medewerker
Someone who works beside a lawyer. Lawyers often delegate many of their tasks
to paralegals. Another word for a paralegal is a legal assistant. They also help
lawyers prepare for closings, hearings, trials, and corporate meetings. Paralegals
investigate the facts of cases and ensure that all relevant information is
considered. They also identify decisions, legal articles and other materials that
are relevant to assigned cases. Other than preparatory work they perform other
vital functions. They draft contracts, separation agreements and instruments of
trust. Some paralegals coordinate other law office employees.
Social legal Workers; SJD Sociaal juridische medewerker
Social legal workers have specialized knowledge of the laws that regulate the
relationships that exist between government agencies and citizens, and between
citizens themselves. They explain complex legal matters. They inform their
clients about the services and facilities available to them. They sometimes act as
spokespersons or mediators. They write objections and defences. The most social
legal workers find employment in non-profit organisations. A growing number find
employment in the commercial sector.
