1.1. Definition of System Analysis
A. Understanding system analysis
- System analysis
stages of research on the running system and aims to find out all
the problems that occur and make it easier to carry out the next stage,
namely system design.
- According to the KBBI
System analysis is defined as a systematic process that can support the
occurrence of a combination of considerations among experts in a
particular field, so that perfect results are obtained from each disciplinary
function applied.


B. Definition of system analysis according to experts
1. According to Mulyanto (2008)
System analysis is a problem-solving technique that describes a
system into its components with the aim of studying how well the
components work and interact to achieve predetermined goals.
2. According to Kristanto (2003)
System analysis is the process of collecting and interpreting existing
realities, diagnosing problems and using both to improve the system.
3. According to Bentley and Whitten (2009)
System analysis is a method to find solutions to existing system
problems by grouping existing components into smaller components so
that the solutions found are in accordance with system needs.


1.2. Functions and Objectives of system analysis
A. System analysis functions
There are several functions of system analysis which include:

, 1. Can identify various problems from the use of "user".
2. Clearly define the goals that must be achieved to be able to meet the
needs of the user.
3. Can choose an alternative method of solving problems on the system.
4. Can plan or implement system designs according to what the user
wants.


B. Purpose of system analysis

There are several objectives of the analysis system which include:

1. Providing information needs services to managerial functions in
controlling the implementation of company operational activities
2. Helping decision makers
3. Evaluate existing systems
4. Formulate the goals to be achieved in the form of data processing
and making new reports.


1.3. System Analysis Steps
1. Identify
Identify, which is the process carried out to identify problems.
Things that are done include:
a. Identify the cause of the problem
b. Identify decision points
c. Identify key personnel
2. Understand
Understand, that is, understand the work of the existing system. This
can be done by analyzing the workings of the running system.
Things that are done include:
a. Determining the type of research
b. Planning a research schedule
c. Set an observation schedule
