The definition of IT governance derives 3 key dimensions:
1. Focus of ITG: what to govern
2. Scope of ITG: whom to govern
3. Patterns of ITG: how to govern
Three concepts of ITG:
1. IT Governance is not about what specific decisions are made.
2. It is about systematically determining who makes each type of decision (decision rights), who
has input to a decision (input right), and how these people or groups are held accountable
for their role.
3. Managing a key management paradox: simultaneously empowering and controlling.
