A: Part 2 - Standardisation of an acid ( Titration using the solution you made with HCl,
calculated HCl conc.)
Skills
I had previously conducted several titrations
and understood how the practical should be
performed; however, there was some new
equipment that I hadn't once used, such as
the magnetic stirrer and using a solution of
our own making. I also learnt new skills to
allow the titration to be more accurate such as
keeping a sample with an indicator into
comparing the colours once the solution had
neutralised to try and keep the point of
neutralisation as equal as possible.
What went well- what went well during is
practical- was the calculations for the
concentrations I understood and helped
develop my skills is practical also allowed me to develop my communication skills with my
peers and others.
Even better if- however, the practical could have been better if I made for my work area was
cleaner, which I could do by making sure that I clear up at area as I go as well as following
, the protocol monkey Lily so that making sure I understand and use the correct volumes of
the substances such as the indicator I should also analyse the method and more efficiently
and making sure that I take my time we method will be essential to this.
Part 3 - Titration of sodium hydroxide with hydrochloric acid (Ph meter)
Skills
Like the last titration, I have conducted many
practicals, including titration and their
apparatus and the use and the skills learnt
from the previous titration allowed me to have
far more accurate readings has kept a sample
of the first titret for the colour change benefits
of my results and allowed them to be closer.
However, using a ph monitor was new to me
and understanding how this piece of apparatus
works and adapting to its needs make their
practical slightly more challenging. However,
the last may have produced more accurate
results than using paper indicators for PH.
What went well-What went well during this
practical was good communication and the
ability to do the calculation; my skills also
improved following the protocol and working in
a clean area.
Even better if the practical could have been
conducted even better if some problems were
identified with the scientific method and made
adaptations to make the technique even more accurate, I can do this by making sure I used
the burette more accurately.
Imagine is no she did not feel supported by them.
