MOVIMIENTOS DE LA




La Tierra está sometida a movimientos de diversa índole. Los principales
movimientos de la Tierra se definen con referencia al Sol y son: rotación, traslación,
precesión, nutación y bamboleo de Chandler.




Rotación
Es el movimiento que realiza el planeta al
girar sobre su propio eje, es decir, sobre sí
mismo.
Este eje consiste en una línea imaginaria
que atraviesa los polos geográficos.




Traslación
Es el que la Tierra realiza alrededor del Sol,
describiendo una órbita elíptica de 93
millones de km, a una velocidad de 28,9
Km por segundo.
En este desplazamiento invierte 365 días y
6 horas.
Esas 6 horas que se acumulan cada año,
transcurridos 4, se convierten en 24 (1 día).




Precesión
Ocurre en el sentido de las manecillas del
reloj, inverso al de rotación.
Cambia la posición del polo celeste a
través del tiempo, por tanto, la estrella
Polar no coincide exactamente con el Polo
