An Evalua4on of Cu#ng Edge Advanced

of the book.

as much as you can.

There are many different English course books available, but CuKng Edge Advanced is one of the
best. What I look for as a teacher is whether it will meet the learning objec8ves for advanced level
students. Yes, with special regard to Unit 1, the content on globaliza8on is appropriately
structured, logically organized, and intended to improve proficiency for higher level students.
The pair/group ac8vi8es are intended to be used in the classroom, so they would be handy. The
ar8cle covers every facet of the subject. The graphical illustra8ons are appealing, well-presented,
and organized in a logical order. The author has used a task-based strategy that provides students
with a choice of tasks to complete solo and in pairs in order to improve their recep8ve and
produc8ve skills.
Students are given the opportunity to share their own ideas about Globaliza8on and compare
them to the worldview. The ethical references in the ar8cles are extremely important because it
relates to individual interest in the subject of Globaliza8on, its posi8ve and nega8ve impact is
opinionated. The assignments gradually become more difficult as they progress from easy to
difficult, yet all of the exercises are related to one another, leading to a deeper level of
understanding for the student.
As children tend to forget previously learned language, objects that are of great u8lity and can be
recycled prac8ce, ideas are stated precisely. Students' background knowledge of the subject is
ac8vated via interac8ve strategies in order to gain various insights. No culture or belief appears to
be offended by the content.
