Guest Lecture: BAS BACCARNE
Interaction Design

Framing I&D
- Shifting interfaces
- Where technology is moving towards?

High level framework
1. KNOW: we weten al hoe
mensen zich gedragen
en voelen.
2. You MAKE stuff
3. For being able to TEST it

= Nadat je deze loop hebt
overlopen kan je gaan bekijken
of je technologie/product is klaar
voor user experience.

, 1. Interaction Design

Starting point: Direction is everywhere wake up and stuck in traffic with a smartphone or
alarm clock and emails and every day this week.
- Price of power that sometimes for example boss by she just pulled out the
plug and the Machine dies of damage is also very bad design also fridges
for example or the address and fascias and fridges of very bad designs for
example a temperature-controlled there but that's just choose a number
from 1 to 5 or 1 to 7 but you have no idea what this is this how cold it is have
warmer this is related to the temperature this often very very badly design

Good interaction design is often invisible
- Je met niet gaat designing for functions but you have to design for users (elke
moet adapten). Maar dit is natuurlijk omgekeerd

Who will be the users?
sterk

How will the product be used?
- Context

= The interaction designs rely on input and output components (voice screens, ..) &
interaction models (drop down menus, commands, forms, icons, gestures,...)

Therefore you need an understanding of the user:
○ Knowledge: What are people good at and bad at? (capabilities)
○ Knowledge: What might help them to perform their tasks? (job to be done)
○ Knowledge: What defines positive experiences? (subjective reality)
