God as one, who fights in a war or fasts everyday’
Ridda Wars:
A series of conflicts that Abu Bakr and Muslims waged against Arab tribes after the prophet Muhammad’s death.
After the prophet’s death some Arab tribes didn’t want to pay Zakah so this showed that they were disloyal to Islam and the Muslim

- 2nd Pillar of Islam
- One of the most important actions in Islam and the first action that Muslims believe they will be questioned on during the Day of
judgement.
- It is mentioned 67 times in the Qur’an and is described as the act that separated those who give in to evil and those who resist it
- Some scholars say that the person who never prays is no longer a Muslim – others say is in grave sin
- Muslims must be In the right state of mind and intention to pray (Niyyah) – A Muslim must pray for the sake of god alone, not for
showing of or for looking good or any wordly gain

The prophet said: ‘The first matter that the slave (of Allah) will be brought to account for on the Day of judgement is the prayer! If it is
sound then the rest of his deeds will be sound. If it is bad, then the rest of his deeds will be bad’

‘They were succeeded by generations who neglected prayer and followed their lusts and so will soon face the evil consequences (hell)’
