How much money can I ask for a document?
Stuvia isn't interfered with any of the price settings within the platform. It's all about the users to decide. They will choose the price and create their own economy within Stuvia. So, to answer the question: ask as much as you believe your document is worth.

When do you guys pay off?
Every Monday morning we pay out users that have decided to withdraw their money from Stuvia. The minimum payout is €10,-. Be sure to provide your bankaccount!

What do I earn per download?
When uploading a document and setting your price, your earnings per download are generated real-time. You pay a transaction fee of €0,5 and a standardized commission to the platform.
Keep in mind, it's not about the lousy €0,80 cents per download but whether the mass is going to download your document. Is your document downloaded a 100 or maybe 200 times, you earn simply around a €100,- by just watching! That's a lot of pints really ;)

Am I obliged to ask money for my study material?
No, certainly not. You can choose whether you would like to share your documents for free or to sell them. If you're smart, you combine those two a little. By sharing freely and selling documents you give other students more trust and which eventually lead to more purchases.

What's with the discount?
Buyers sometimes get a discount. Of course, the discount is payed for by Stuvia and will not affect the earnings of the seller(s)!

What's the extension of the document after I downloaded it?
A document, generally, is offered as a PDF. However, we will not change Powerpoint-presentations or other unlogical file extensions to PDF.

I've uploaded a document, but it's not yet presented on Stuvia. Why?
After uploading your document, it first has to be generated as a PDF, so your document can be put into the viewer. Also, your uploaded document is automatically checked by our Plagiarism scan.
This could take some time, depending on the occupation of our server. We assure you that the document will be presented ASAP!

What can I do when my document's preview is ugly as hell?
That's too bad. There is not much we could do. You could change your extension by converting it and uploading it again. Moreover, it has nothing to do with your original document. It would be smart to let you potential buyers know, by noting this in your document description.

As soon as I downloaded a document, is it allowed to exchange the document with others?
No! You aren't the Copyright owner of that document. In other words, you commit a crime by doing so. It's only allowed to use the documents for personal use.

Is it allowed to download a document and then upload it again on Stuvia, but now with my name attached to it?
No! It's not THAT easy to make money. Stealing documents is seen as direct plagiarism and will be noticed by our plagiarism scan. Your profile and documents will immediately be removed from the platform.
